Mike Felix

Co-founder, CEO

For more than 22 years, Mike has developed and implemented marketing and public relations strategies that put capital markets firms in the limelight and helped them become industry leaders in their niche.    Prior to co-founding LA Marketing, Mike was Head of Marketing for TeraExchange, an independent startup Swaps Execution Facility (SEF) and was also Director of Global Marketing at Lime Brokerage, a leading technology-focused agency broker specializing in low-latency electronic trading.  Mike played an active role in establishing both firms as well-known participants in the global trading markets.

Previously, Mike served as SVP, Director of Global Marketing for RealTick, a pioneer in global electronic trading technology and developer of Archipelago ECN (and subsequently a subsidiary of Lehman Brothers and Barclays Capital).  He also held managerial responsibilities for sales, business development, support and training and was a member of the firm's Executive Committee, helping steer company-wide strategy.  Mike was a co-founder of Hottrend, an early algorithmic trading technology provider acquired by RealTick.

Earlier in his career, Mike led a team on behalf of Barents Group / KPMG Peat Marwick to implement the first Asset-Liability Management program in the Former Eastern Bloc for the Czech Saving Bank.  Mike also was a senior consultant for Conoco Phillips in Venezuela and held treasury and municipal bond analyst positions at JP Morgan Chase.  Both positions afforded Mike an entry into the global capital markets industry as well as hundreds of thousands of frequent-flyer miles.

Mike lives in New York and received his MBA from Harvard Business School and BA in Economics, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University, where he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa.  As an avid ski instructor in his early days, Mike is ecstatic that many in the firm share his passion for marketing as well as going really fast down mountains.

Victor Rodriguez

Co-Founder, Senior Partner

Victor is the Founder and CEO of LatAm Alternatives and several other industry firms and has more than 19 years of experience in management, sales, marketing and business development within the securities industry throughout the US and LatAm region. Prior to co-founding LA Marketing, Victor was Partner and Head of Latin American Prime Brokerage for Merlin Securities (Prime Broker) and Director of Global Institutional Sales at Trade Station Securities, subsequently acquired by Monex Group.  He also served as Director of Latin America for Terra Nova Trading (now LightSpeed Trading),and in the late 90s he was the Founder, President & CEO of Latin America, a leading trading education provider.

Victor started his career at The Caracas Stock Exchange and rose to be the youngest President & CEO of a Broker Dealer on the Exchange. He has been a live TV Economics News Anchor and is well known as the Founder and Former Head of The Hedge Fund Association (HFA) LatAm Chapter, and is a former STA (Security Traders Association) National Board LatAm Advisor and Member of The Board of Advisors at Emerging Markets Virtual Exchange (EMVx).

Victor has written extensively about LatAm finance and co-published the influential white paper, “The Spectrum of Investors for Latin American Hedge Funds.” A frequent speaker, panelist and featured presenter at professional events, Victor has been interviewed by The WSJ, Institutional Investor, Euromoney, Bloomberg, The Trade, Traders Magazine LatAm Fund Manager, Financial Times,, FinWeek, FINalternatives, HFMWeek, Funds People and other leading publications and television media.

Victor is married with 2 children, and divides his time between NYC, South Florida and Latin America.

Anne Aldrich

Senior Partner

As CEO of Across the Board Marketing, Inc., Anne has established herself as one of the country’s preeminent media relations experts in the financial, technology and medical niches.  She helps clients build visibility, establish credibility, increase sales and really frustrate competitors with in-depth coverage across print, digital and visual broadcast media.  Anne also is a self-professed direct marketing geek, and provides direct marketing consultation and copywriting.  She has taught workshops and classes in direct marketing for DePaul University, the Chicago Association of Direct Marketing and corporate clients.

As a specialist in the global capital markets, Anne has built up the broad industry knowledge base and extensive media relationships that can help optimally position your firm across multiple media outlets. She enjoys conversations about such esoteric topics as dark pools, low latency and algorithmic trading, which can make her a crashing bore at parties but a hit with reporters.  Anne has secured media coverage for clients in major business media such as Barron’s, Dow Jones Newswire, Investor’s Business Daily, Financial News, CNBC, FOX News and Wall Street Journal, along with a wide variety of international industry publications and digital media.

While Anne’s interests are infinite, her professional specialties include financial services and technology, global capital markets, electronic trading (retail and institutional), trading platforms and execution management systems, algorithmic trading, multi-asset class trading, buy-side and sell-side technologies  and wealth and alternative asset management.  Anne received a BA with a double major in English Literature and Spanish from Michigan State University and lives on the beautiful lakefront of Chicago.

Simon Brad

Senior Partner

Simon is an experienced institutional trader specializing in US securities for several international firms where he has developed innovative strategies in the trading and arbitrage of stocks, ADRs, Bonds and futures. Mr. Brad is also an experienced practitioner of the Pristine Method and has been a Pristine Trained Trader and Pristine Instructor since 2001.  Mr. Brad organizes and teaches Pristine Seminars in Spanish for the US Hispanic community and within Spanish speaking countries around the world.

Simon is also the President of Excelis Capital Management LLC, a Commodity Trading Advisor firm specializing in the intraday trading of Metals, Energy and Fx futures. Simon resides in Miami.

Eric Chang

Senior Partner

Eric is a seasoned multi-cultural executive with extensive experience in Asset Management, Alternative & Traditional Investments, Private Banking, Private Equity, and several other fields.  His current focus is on helping International Asset Managers enter Latin America and Latin American managers enter the US and International Markets. Eric has broad experience in International Products Structuring, Cross Border Transactions, Hedge Funds, Collective Schemes, Managed Accounts Platforms, Corporate Governance and Hedge Fund allocation.

Eric serves as a consultant for eVestment, a provider of global databases and analytics technology to the investment community; Head of Business Development LatAm for the Spaulding Group, a leading performance measurement services firm for the investment industry; and Head of Business Development LatAm for Apex Fund Services, a global fund administration solutions provider.  Previously, Eric served as Head of International Product Structuring for itaú Unibanco, the largest bank in Latin America and was Director of Sales and Marketing for Amicorp.  Earlier in his career, Eric served as Sales Director for Pearl Capital Management, CFO at TECOM S.A. Family Office, Sales Manager LatAM for Franklin Templeton Investments and Vice-President at Merrill Lynch. Eric began his career as a Design Engineer at Honeywell Aerospace.

Eric is a member of the committee of the CFA Institute of Brazil and formerly was committee member of the Brazilian Chapter of AIMA where he was responsible for organizing the AIMA Brazil network.  Based in São Paulo, Eric was born in Hong Kong and grew up in the US, China, Europe and Latin America and is fluent or proficient in 5 languages.  Eric earned his MBA from New York University and B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Universidad Metropolitana in Caracas, Venezuela.

Jim Cohen

Senior Partner

Jim has been building, running and growing successful events and event businesses for over 20 years.  Early in his career, Jim was a founding member of ITE Exhibitions where he managed global conference and exhibitions teams focused primarily on Russia and the CIS.  ITE was ranked by Business Week Magazine as the fastest growing small business in Europe for 5 years running and grew to over 500 employees before it went public on the FTSE.  Jim also founded IEvents Media where he launched the AdventureExpo, which continues to be the largest series of events focused on the global travel industry.  Jim won the Show Manager of the Year award in 2006 and was recognized as the creator of the Best Consumer Event Award in 2007.

Jim also worked for Worldwide Business Research and then FC Business Intelligence, where he helped develop some of the largest conferences in the world including TradeTech, Etail, Luxury Interactive, ProcureCon, FieldService US and East, Mobile Marketing, CSP Today, Solar Organics, CPV USA and Solar Regulations & Technology USA.  Other events Jim conceived and launched include Moscow International Oil & Gas Expo, KIOGE, UGE, TIOGE, InventWeek and TryAdventure among others.

When Jim is not dreaming up events, he applies his stellar sales and interpersonal skills along with his extensive blue-chip industry connections to running the search and acquisitions division for Objective Solutions International.  Jim graduated from The Maxwell School at Syracuse University and lives in NYC with his family - Danielle, Jacob and Macy.  He has traveled the world seeking out all kinds of adventures; however, he always keeps a special place in his heart (along with his skis) for the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont where he was born and raised.

Joe Nikolson

Senior Partner

Joe has an extensive background in capital markets and financial services.  Most recently, Joe has served as principal and COO of Los Angeles Investment Company, a SEC-registered RIA. Previously, Joe served as President of, Inc., a provider of an innovative online trading platform bringing execution, liquidity and competitive pricing to the fragmented fixed income marketplace. Joe was responsible for obtaining SEC ATS status for the trading platform, significantly increasing revenues and the firm's client base as well as successfully closing several rounds of strategic capital.

Prior to joining Inc., Joe served as Chief Growth Officer of TradeStation Group, Inc. and as President of TradeStation Securities, Inc. He was also a Director of TradeStation Europe Ltd. and TradeStation Securities' membership representative to the Boston Option Exchange, Chicago Board Options Exchange, International Exchange, Pacific Exchange, Philadelphia Stock Exchange and an allied member of the New York Stock Exchange. Joe was responsible for taking TradeStation from inception to $180 mil in revenues and a ranking of the sixth largest online brokerage as well as several Barron's magazines top annual rankings.

Joe has served as an advisor to Deep Liquidity, iTalentCafe and frequently advises various industry clients.  Joe received a BBA in Finance, Summa Cum Laude, and an MBA from Cleveland State University. Joe completed post-graduate work at Kent State University where he served as a Teaching Fellow in Finance.  Joe resides in Los Angeles, California with his wife and children.

Michael Scotti

Michael is an acclaimed capital markets journalist, conference organizer and client relations professional.  He owns and operates a blog at having the incredible foresight and trigger finger to secure the URL in the mid 1990s!

Previously, Michael was Editorial Director of Traders Magazine where he managed and motivated a team of four journalists and was responsible for in-depth editorial coverage for a leading financial industry publication covering the equity, options and forex trading markets, publishing approximately 20 print issues per year.  Michael also developed and oversaw Traders digital strategy including a re-launched website, and also introduced e-newsletters, webinars and conferences on behalf of the publication. Under Michael’s leadership, Traders won a prestigious award from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers in the Small Magazine Enterprise category, one of only three national magazines to win the distinction in 2009.

Prior to Traders, Michael led marketing and client relations for KV Execution Services (Bear Wagner Specialists), a major NYSE brokerage firm whose clients included 4 of the top 10 largest U.S. Money Managers. He also oversaw marketing and programming at TraderForum, a subscription-based conferencing product for institutional money managers. Working with nearly 200 money managers in the U.S. and Europe, Michael developed programs that focused on trading and money management and created what may arguably be Wall Street’s first interactive blog in 2000.  Michael graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in Journalism and shuttles between Medellin, Colombia and Miami.
